Sometimes, when it comes to relationships, I often wonder what causes the status to destroy the very thing that brings it about in the first place: love. Like what a good friend of mine is facing at this point in time, I wonder if there is no love lost between him and the girl (who happens to also be my friend). Frankly, I do not know. As much as I would like to see them ending up together, the bit of a rough patch they are going through seems insurmountable if they persist to behave in this manner :(
Sheesh, why does wearing your heart on the sleeve have to be this tough? And friend, this is for you:
Westlife- 'Try Again'
Hush now don't you cry
There will be a better day
I promise you
We can work it out
But only if you let me know
What's on your mind
Baby, I thought it was forever
Through any kind of weather
But some day you will find what you're searching for
Try again
Never stop believing
Try again
Don't give up on your love
Stumble and fall
It's the heart of it all
When you fall down (down)
Just try again
So lie down let it go
Hey you will never be alone
I promise you
If you can't fight the feeling (oh yeah)
Surrender in you heart
Remember love will set you free
Baby, I thought it was forever
You would always be together
But some day you will find what you're searching for
Try again
Never stop believing
Try again
Don't give up on your love
Stumble and fall
It's the heart of it all
When you fall down (down)
Just try again
Baby when a heart is crying
It sometimes feels like dying
The tear drops fall like rain
Baby I thought it was forever
You would always be together
But some day you will find what you're searching for
Try again
Never stop believing (oh no)
Try again
Don't give up on your love (dont give up on your love baby)
Try again (just try again)
Never stop believing
Try again
Don't give up on your love
Stumble and fall
It's the heart of it all
When you fall down
Just try again
As I wish them the best of luck in settling the matter, I hope the compromise they make will all be worth it. Anyway, for the girls out there, ever thought how a guy really thinks about your species? Then read on to find out what we wish you girls know but as usual, treat whatever I have written with a pinch of salt and do not take it at face value:
1) A guy could be flirting around all day, but before he goes to sleep, he always thinks about that one girl whom he really cares about.
2) A guy will do anything just to get you to notice him.
3) Guys go crazy over a girl's smile or the bimbotic passing remarks she makes.
4) Guys detest it if you talk about your ex's or about your former love interests. What matters (see, present tense?) is the current one, him (:
5) Boyfriends need to be re-assured often (this adverb has to be taken judiciously; not so often that it becomes prosaic) that they are loved.
6) Boyfriends find it uneasy when you talk about your guy friends (esp. close ones) to them.
7) Being jealous often is just the way most men are engineered.
8) Truth be told, boys are more emotional than we would like people to think.
9) Keeping a guy in suspense, like, leaving him a hanging message of "Um, you know something? Ah, never mind..." will render him thinking that he has done something wrong (although you might not have insinuated anything) and obsessed with finding out what you were meant to say.
10) When a guy often teases you, it is often a big hint that he likes you.
11) If you are serious in the relationship and assuming the condition of ceteris paribus, your boyfriend will tend to love you more than you do him, even when he is reticent about his feelings.
12) Most guys think unduly. Just one trivial thing you do (and you don't even remember it) could send him to some reflective soul-searching.
13) A guy sometimes seeks advice about love from a girl and not another guy because guys think alike, and if one guy is confused, then they are all confused :P
14) If a guy asks you to leave him alone, he actually wanted to say, "Do you mind sitting here and listening to me?"
15) When a guy suddenly speaks so seriously, pay hard attention to him; it doesn't happen that often so you should know something is up.
16) Suppose a guy flatters you, that you are beautiful. Don't say you aren't because it only makes him want to stop flattering you since he abhors disagreeing with you more.
17) A guy often has more problems than you perceive him to be.
18) Don't play hard to get so much; guys are easily intimidated and it's only a matter of time he gives up.
19) As much as we hate rejections, we detest being led on further even more.
20) If you are going to reject a guy, don't say that you take him more as a big brother and that he is a nice guy who deserves someone better. It's so silly. Who are you trying to kid, girl? Tell him you aren't interested in the relationship (which I admit is an indirect insult, since it, too, involves him)--he will respect your decision and move on more easily.
21) When a guy willingly gives up his sleep and free time just to be with you, he really wants to be with you as much as he could afford.
Yeah, I know some of the above sound too utopian and Western-centric (come on, I just read two fiction books published by Western authors!) but to some extent, don't you think it's true? And for those alpha males out there, don't get offended, for I am merely expressing what I observe, albeit empiricism per se isn't impeccable :P
Whoa, I better stop writing such mushy stuff. Again, I disclaim that I am not speaking from experience, okay? Haha.
Your love guru,
Perd.
